Feature Story 8

Enjoy this gorgeous kitchen renovation done in Willoughby Hills!

These homeowner’s had finally had enough of their out-dated kitchen and decided to renovate. It was obvious that the entire kitchen would get a face-lift, from floor to ceiling. They were desperate to have more storage space, counter space, upgraded appliances and overall better functionality. One Man and a Hammer delivered just that!

Quite the transformation, right?! The new kitchen design utilized the space in every way possible. Increased storage space was easily accomplished through the addition of cabinets and drawers extending from the added peninsula all the way around the corner of the kitchen along the adjacent wall. The cabinets chosen were Shiloh in a Brandy finish and contributed immensely to the aesthetic appeal! Richeleiu handles and knobs were chosen to accent the cabinets and drawers nicely.

Added counter space was also proven possible thanks to the addition of the peninsula and extending the counter around the wall. The Firenza Yellow River granite counters were finished with a standard edge detail and also added tremendously to the final look. A linear tile back splash was added so the previous bare wall was gone! A stainless steel Luxart under mount sink was placed and accompanied by a Delta faucet.

Pendant lights were chosen for task reasons and canned ceiling lighting was used for overall lighting. With both, the kitchen had plenty of lighting and each area was now well lit for any and all tasks that needed done.

The Prato Classico ceramic tile floor finished and pulled the whole design look together. The lighter floor and counter tops surrounded the darker cabinetry and made the kitchen VERY pleasing to the eyes.

The old, cluttered desk area was replaced with a clean and clear space perfectly suited for the coffee maker. The same Shiloh cabinetry in Brandy was used, as was the same Firenza Yellow River granite counter tops. This area turned out to be simple and effective!

The original kitchen had the dishwasher next to the refrigerator, taking up space. After the remodel, the dishwasher was placed along the opposite wall which provided for more cabinets and counter space to be placed in its spot. Also, as you can see, new stainless steel appliances were installed throughout the entire kitchen, including a refrigerator, oven/stove, microwave and dishwasher. Let that silver shine!

Before the remodel, the back hall was crowded, unorganized and lacked storage. The renovation fixed that problem! Cabinets were placed above and below the space that was created to hang coats if need be. The added cabinets down below eliminated all the clutter that was previously in the space, which opened the room up and made access to everything placed there tons easier. The same granite tile that was used in the kitchen was used here to create a seat, which is a great idea for any mudroom-ish type area.

All in all, One Man and a Hammer was grateful for this renovation opportunity. It turned out amazing and the homeowner’s were over joyed!
